Plattsburgh City Beach

The Plattsburgh City Beach offers the longest fresh water sand beach in the USA!  The City of Plattsburgh in offering Stand Up Paddleboard & Kayak Rentals directly on the water during the summer season.  The sandy bottom and crystal clear waters of Lake Champlain make this an ideal location for your first paddling adventure on an SUP, as well as a leisurely paddle in a kayak.  Weather and water conditions can close or at least offer more excitement at this location as the prevailing southerly wind can generate some rather large and frequent waves form the over 100 miles of fetch created by lake Champlain the drive directly onshore into the beach.  Surfing is a possibility ( though a lot of work) here, or you can simply kick back and watch the kiteboarders work their aerial wonders from right here at the beach, and paddle another Day.  Contact the City of Plattsburgh 324-7709 for the hours and conditions at the beach.
